Day 3 of TM Meditiation

So I'm on day three of TM meditation and so far so good. My mind is clearer and stress level is lower. It might be just me and a psychological thing but I think it is working.

After grieving the Chelsea loss Wednesday, I could have taken it out on the world.... but I didn't.

So today I'll be off to the Red Bull game and then to Nelson's B-Day get together in Newark. Hopefully I can get through the night sober.

Finished my Second Mileage Run..... Not Bad!!!!

So there I was... getting on a plane to California only to return the same day. For what??

MILES!!!

A total of seven (7) people on the same itinerary for the same reason. MILES!!!!

My friends Gus and Tom went along with me and a family of four (4) from Flyertalk were the group of crazies that went to San Jose, CA for a total of 11,728 miles... and I was upgraded to first class for all of my flights.

Eating and drinking made my whole day. Cheese omelette served with ham and sausage, cereal with fruit and yogurt, cheeseburger with all the fixings, and short ribs with split pea soup. Nothing short of Bloody Marys, Heineken and red wine was also consumed.

All for what?? MILES!!!!!

How do you get people to donate their blood...?

Give'em a fucking GAS card!!!

I, being a decent human being, took time out today to try donating blood at a blood drive. As I approch the AAA office in Florham Park I notice the parking lot pretty full. Thinking nothing of it, I approch the blood center's "mobile" clinic and get hit with " Sorry, sir, we are a little backed up. Please come back in about 20 min. We are giving away $10 gas cards."

Being understanding, I oblige and go back to my car and keep busy for 20 min. After programing my Mercury's FOB, I go back to the donation area. As I approch it, I see a line forming in front of the door and get hit with "... it's gonna be about 45 - 60 min."

I have donated pleny of times before and never seen such an intrest in blood donation. What has this country become?? People are giving the term Oil = Blood a true meaning.

Now only if Continental gave free airline miles for a donation or two!!!

Donating Blood - Join the Club

Today, I am off to donate a pint of my rich blood.

Every time I decide to donate, I think of where my blood goes. Is it to a cancer patient? To an accident victim? Or someone doing routine open heart surgery.

Ever since 9/11, I have donated blood as often I can. This donation will put me into the "Gallon Club". This group of people are individuals that have donated at least 1 gallon of life, and I will join this little group today. Nothing big, it is business as usual in my little world of making a little difference at a time.

So... anyone want to join me?

Happy Birthday Tom Draghi!!!

It was a night to remember. Close friends sitting together, drinking, eating 'Old World" pizza and picking on the "little back one".

As Draghi begins his new year of life, can someone explain why we were drinking Michelob Ultra??

Land Ho... Australia!!!!

We all know that Jenni and I will be visiting Australia for our honeymoon. But one question that always comes up is, "How you gonna get there?". Well, today I think we have found our best way in both accruing miles and a fair price.

We are flying through one of the largest islands in the pacific, Guam.

Continental flies there and I have miles. Perfect match!

More on it later, unless we change to an around-the-world itinerary.
